Temperate maritime climate strongly influenced by Lake Garda and the Dolomites behind it in the west and the Adriatic Sea in the east. Warm, dry summers with cooling from the mountains and mild winters with regular precipitation.

The hills of Valpolicella and the Illasi valley. The soil consists of limestone, slate and clay with rocks and pebbles in the subsoil.

In the Ripasso technique, the wine undergoes a classic (normal) fermentation, where afterwards the pressed and dried skins that remain from the famous Amarone wines are added to the wine and a 2nd fermentation is started. This gives the wine more flavour, complexity and depth.
